5000 Pies is a social enterprise operated by Holy Faith Fellowship in West Long Beach, created as a practical way to serve the neighborhood through both food and community.

Long before the restaurant opened, Fountain of Life was already deeply involved in the area through tutoring programs, youth mentorship, ESL classes, Bible studies, and other community outreach. Over time, one need kept coming up again and again: people were looking for work, stability, connection, and support.

That’s where the idea for 5000 Pies began.

What if a restaurant could be more than just a business? What if it could create jobs, offer mentorship, teach people culinary skills, and provide a place where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and cared for?

With Chef Mike’s culinary background, a lot of prayer, and more than a few unexpected open doors, that idea became reality.

The name 5000 Pies comes from the Bible story of Jesus feeding the 5000—a story that reflects much of what has shaped us from the beginning: generosity, hospitality, and providing physical and spiritual food.

In 2014, we opened the shop to serve West Long Beach. Our heart has always been for the youth and we followed God as he opened the door for us across from Cabrillo High School. We love our city and it has been a joy to serve our hood.

Since then, 5000 Pies has become a familiar part of the neighborhood.

For some, we’ve been an after-school spot. For others, a first job. For seniors, a trusted meal provider. For many, simply a place where they know they’ll be welcomed.

We’ve seen students grow up and come back years later. We’ve built relationships with neighbors, families, and regulars whose orders we know by heart.

After 11 years, a new door has opened. We have launched our mobile food trailer! Chef Mike is a Le Cordon Bleu chef who could be in any kitchen in the world. He has built 5000 Pies into a local treasure. Chef is so excited to walk into the next stage of his culinary development and 5000 Pies' expansion.

As we grow into new things, our vision and heart stay the same.

Good food. Fair prices. Made with love.
